Dig out 10cm of existing surface and dispose.

Insert 4x1 wooden timbers for the edges secure with 1 x 1 30cm long wooden stakes and screw to timber.

Insert a layer of hardcore (type1 or similar) 7.5cm deep. Compact the hardcore with a plate compactor or roller.

Add a 2.5cm layer of sharp/ grit sand (not building sand) and compact again. Screed the sand bed level with the top of the timbers.

Place a weed membrane on the sand bed walking softly on the bed then screw down in place making sure there are no creases in the weed membrane.

Roll out the grass in the direction you want it and fix it to the timbers with screws, then trim the edges with a Stanley knife.

In dry conditions brush the grass up against the pile then spread kiln sand evenly throughout the grass.

Brush the sand into the grass the opposite way from before by going with the pile direction making it easier for the sand to infill. Then give it a final brush against the pile working the sand deep down and standing up the grass.
